The Russian audience of the new social network Clubhouse does not yet exceed 10,000 users. Local growth in the popularity of the site, as well as in the world, can be facilitated by performances by famous businessmen and show business stars
As of February 10, the new Clubhouse application was downloaded by 7.7 thousand users from Russia, while in the whole world – 5.3 million users, follows from the closed data of App Annie, which two subscribers of this company shared with RBC. At the same time, the number of active users of the social network in the world during the period from November 10 to February 10 was significantly lower – 338 thousand users. For Russia, this figure has not yet been determined, according to App Annie data.
The growth of the audience of the social network could be facilitated by the speeches of famous people on it. Its users include American businessmen Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, actors Ashton Kutcher and Paris Hilton, musicians Jared Leto, Drake, and others. Russian users include artist Pokras Lampas, co-founder of Mail.ru Group Dmitry Grishin, hosts of the YouTube show “Girlfriends » Ksenia Dukalis and Karina Istomina and others.
How much does a new social network cost
Clubhouse was launched in March 2020 by Alpha Exploatation Co. A couple of months later, in May, platform developers attracted $12 million in investments from the American venture capital fund Andreessen Horowitz. Although the project was in beta with less than 5,000 users, investors valued it at $100 million. In January of this year, Clubhouse raised another $85 million, based on a company valuation of $1.4 billion.
